Heartsaver for K-12 Schools course completion cards are for all Heartsaver courses. This includes elementary, middle, junior, and high schools. This card may be issued to school students, faculty, and staff. For this policy, “faculty” refers to teachers and coaches; “staff” refers to an employee of a K-12 school or K-12 school system.
You must show proper student, or school faculty ID to attend this class.
The American Heart Association strongly promotes knowledge and proficiency in all AHA courses and has developed instructional materials for this purpose. Use of these materials in an educational course does not represent course sponsorship by the AHA. Any fees charged for such a course, except for a portion of fees needed for AHA course materials, do not represent income to the AHA.

Course Name: K-12 Heartsaver CPR AED
Course Hours: 2.5 - 3 hours
Course Description: The AHA and ECC recognize the opportunity to support AHA Advocacy efforts for CPR in Schools and to train the next generation of lifesavers in CPR, AED.
The Heartsaver for K-12 Schools course completion card was created to provide a cost-effective Heartsaver course completion card for K-12 school systems. The card signifies that an individual in the K- 12 school system has successfully completed the objectives and skills evaluations in accordance with the curricula of the AHA Heartsaver programs.
Learn to save the life of a loved one, friend, co-worker, or a neighbor. The skills learned in this course include CPR (for adults, children, and infants), how to properly use an AED defibrillator, relief of choking in adults, children, and infants, compression only CPR, when to call 9-1-1, and use of barrier devices for all ages. Class agenda includes video instruction, lecture, and hands on with manikins and AED equipment.

Application requirements: $35.00 and valid K-12 Student ID or K-12 Faculty ID
Certificate: K-12 schools: Heartsaver CPR AED 2 year certification card through the American Heart Association (AHA).

Special Note for large groups (24 or more): Through the American Heart Association, our classes must adhear to a 1:6 instructor to student ratio for certifications, therefore we have placed a limit on class sizes up to 24 at this time.
Should you require CPR and AED training without Certification, we can facilitate much larger groups at a reduced cost with the AHA s Family & Friends CPR Program. The program is specifically designed to train large groups in a shorter period of time, covering the essential elements of CPR, AED, and choking (Infant and child modules are optional but will add more time if desired).
By registering and paying for this course, the student agrees to the Release and Waiver as stated below.

In consideration for my acceptance to a training, testing, and/or educational program at the City of Coral Springs, I agree to sign this Release and Waiver. Accordingly, I agree to unconditionally release, waive, and discharge the City of Coral Springs, its Commission members, employees, agents, and servants, all hereafter referred to as “releases,” from all claims and causes of action, that I, my personal representatives, assigns, heirs, and next of kin, may have for any loss, damage, or injury to person or property, whether caused by the negligence, or otherwise of the releases in connection with my participation in any training, testing, and/or educational program at the City of Coral Springs. In addition, I agree to indemnify completely, the releases against all claims, demands, made by or on behalf of me in relation to my participation in any training, testing, and/or educational program and all causes of actions arising out of my own actions or involvement with the City of Coral Springs.
If you are registering a child under the age of 18 or an incapacitated adult you represent and warrant that you are the parent or legal guardian of that party and have the legal authority to enter into this agreement on their behalf and by proceeding with this event registration, you agree that the terms of this Agreement and Waiver shall apply equally to all Registered Parties. By registering a child under 13, you agree and consent to the collection of that child’s information which you provide for the purposes of registration
I HAVE CAREFULLY READ THE FOREGOING RELEASE AND WAIVER AND KNOW THE CONTENTS THEREOF AND AGREE TO THIS RELEASE AND WAIVER AS MY OWN FREE ACT.
I expressly agree that this Release and Waiver is intended to be as broad and as inclusive as permitted by the laws of the State of Florida, and that if any portion thereof is held invalid, it is agreed that the balance shall notwithstanding, continue in full force and effect.
