Course Description: The curriculum in this course is designed to enhance the fire investigator’s ability to detect and determine the origin and cause of a fire. Specific topics include fire behavior review, investigator ethics, construction ignition sources, reading fire patterns and scene re-construction. Special topics on electrical fire investigation, woodland fires, vehicle fires, mobile home fires, and cell phone devices will be covered. Special emphasis on fire scene documentation and extinguisher/alert systems will be stressed.
Board of Rules and Appeals (BORA) Students: If you are an approved BORA Inspector, they can sponsor you to attend the class. Your class tuition and books will be covered. Please follow the directions to register. You must register for each class individually.
BORA Students - do not pay the registration or tuition. You must upload your BORA card and your BORA card expiration date. If your card and expiration are not uploaded within 3 business days of registration, you will be withdrawn from class.
Application Process: Please choose the class or classes you would like to attend. Please note space is limited so ensure you are registering for the class needed and that you can attend all dates listed. Failure to show up can cause you to be removed from additional classes. Once the registration period is closed or the classes are full no additional applications will be taken. All candidates will be required to upload the following documents to complete the application:
